With the first sign of Easter Eggs on the shelves the SSML welcomed another full weekend of fixtures and more drama than recently seen on ITV.

WEEKEND’S HEADLINES
Stotfold’s fine 2019 form continues with another win, Hadley become the sixth team to top the Premier Division, Bovingdon hit Clean Slate for six and Old Bradwell United reach the semi-finals of the County Cup. The weekend’s 32 games seeing 119 goals (an average of 3.72 per game).

PREMIER DIVISION
Stotfold wins are like buses, you wait ages for one then two come along at once, the Eagles followed up last week’s success with a 2-1 win at neighbours Arlesey Town and are now just one point behind Cockfosters at the bottom, the Fosters going down 1-2 at home to Wembley who are now unbeaten their last six outings. Hadley now top the table after recording their third successive 3-0 win, this time against Harpenden Town as morning leaders Tring Athletic were held to a 4-4 draw at North Greenford United FC, the hosts equalising in stoppage time. Oxhey Jets certainly seem to like visiting Biggleswade as they followed up last weeks win at United with a 1-1 draw at Biggleswade FC. What goes around comes around as Biggleswade United found out when after suffering a last minute defeat last week they netted an injury time winner at Colney Heath. Leighton Town gained revenge for last week’s home defeat by Potton United by winning the return fixture by a solitary goal. Elsewhere Crawley Green were beaten 0-2 at London Colney, Edgware Town were 3-1 winners against visiting Leverstock Green and Baldock Town recorded a 4-1 success at London Tigers. DIVISION ONE
The big top of the table clash saw third place Winslow United entertain unbeaten league leaders Harefield United in front of a crowd of 102. The Hares coming from a goal down at the break to win by the odd goal in three and increase their lead at the top of the table to 12 points as second placed Broadfields United were surprising beaten at home by Risborough Rangers (1-2). Life at the bottom for Hatfield Town continues to remain hard as they now find themselves fourteen points adrift following a 0-3 defeat at Ampthill Town and to make matters worse the six clubs immediately above them all won. FC Broxbourne Borough were the day’s big winners with a 4-0 home success over Langford. Amersham Town now under new management won 4-2 at Hillingdon Borough while Codicote continue to improve following a 3-2 home win over Park View. Elsewhere Brimsdown defeated Enfield Borough 4-2, Bedford overcame visiting Rayners Lane by the odd goal in three while Wodson Park recorded their first league win since September when they returned from Buckingham Town with a 2-1 win. Unite MK recorded their first away win since September when they overturned a 1-2 half time deficit to win 3-2 at Grendon Rangers. Elsewhere Totternhoe overcame visiting Pitstone & Ivinghoe by two goals to nil while Mursley United recorded at 3-0 success at The 61FC (Luton).
