Rangers conceded three penalties last Tuesday as they went down by seven goals to one at title favourites, Egham Town. Not for the first time have Rangers conceded three spot-kicks in a game this season, as only a couple of weeks ago they managed to ship the same amount at Amersham. I will not comment on the penalties as I was not in attendance, but in the great scheme of things it mattered not, as Risborough were crushed by this very strong Egham team. Town took the lead after 21 minutes with Cullen the scorer. The first of the penalties followed just five minutes later, Hale dispatching the kick. With five minutes until the break Egham's second penalty and third goal was scored by Heneghan. On the stroke of half time Ali Bangura gave the visitors some hope with a well taken goal.
Ten minutes into the second half that hope was crushed when Heneghan got his second and Hales then grabbed his second on 67 minutes to make it five. A rampant Egham were awarded a third penalty in the 79th minute with Hutchins the successful taker and in the closing minutes Brown completed a miserable night for Rangers with Town's seventh. With Rangers in a relegation battle this was probably not a fixture that the management would have expected too much from, but the score-line will be of greater concern, with goal difference ever important.
