Rangers moved up to fourth place in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division as they completed a league double over neighbours Aylesbury Vale Dynamos.
The home side started brightly enough, a tenth minute effort having to be cleared off the visitors line. Six minutes later a wonderful cross from EK narrowly missed the head of Lewis Albert for what would have been a great goal had the midfielder connected.
Ben Bridle-Card made a decent stop on 18 minutes from a Jake Baldwin strike as Aylesbury briefly threatened. Five minutes later, however, Andrei Chiriac settled the nerves of the Risborough faithful when he raced down the right wing, somehow avoided a crowd of players as he cut across just outside the Aylesbury area and then fired past a helpless George Zammit in the home sides goal.
Two minutes later it was the turn of Josh Williams to trouble the score sheet as he ran onto a long clearance from defence to calmly slot past Zammit and put Risborough two up.
In truth, the second half never rally got going. Elliott Buchanan saw a 52nd minute shot come back off a post, the follow up from Rio Connell well saved by Zammit. AJ saw a 72nd minute header also well saved by Zammit but though both sides huffed and puffed there was little of any note to report on.
For Risborough this was a third away win on the spin and a second clean sheet on the trot, all ‘plus points’ for what is shaping up to be one of the most interesting SSM Premier Division campaigns in some time.
