Rangers chalked up their second consecutive five-nil victory as they returned home from a mid-week trip to North Beds with three points having completed a League double over hosts Kempston Rovers.
It didn’t take long for Risborough to get on the score sheet. A sixth minute cross from the left by Jayden Ashbourne found Elliott Buchanan in the box and the striker needed no second invitation to stoop and head past Eben Tulamba.
Both Rio Connell and Jack Hutchinson had decent chances thwarted by Tulamba before Elliott grabbed his second goal on 30 minutes. Carl Stewart saw his initial effort saved by the Kempston keeper, Rio saw his follow up blocked but Els made no mistake with the loose ball.
On 40 minutes the busy Stewart departed with an injury and was replaced by Andrei Chiriac. Within four minutes Andrei had made it 3-0 to the visitors. A run down the right by EK saw him pull the ball back to Josh Williams who in turn set up Andrei to place his shot from the edge of the area past Tulamba.
The home sides first effort of note didn’t arrive until the 57th minute when Yousef Karim fired over the Risborough bar. Four minutes later his side were four down. Els effort hit the bar and the rebound fell kindly to Chiriac who scored with a rare header.
Four minutes Andrei had his hat-trick. Rio ran down the wing and manged to get a cross in that was fumbled by Tulamba but fell into Andrei’s path and he gleefully smashed home.to complete a 21-minute hat-trick.
For Rangers it was ten goals in two games, six points, two clean sheets and up to fourth in the table. Really, what’s not to like!
