The Reserves extend their unbeaten run to 4

We went into today’s game unbeaten in our last 3 games and with a very strong squad.
Jack Sillitoe was getting his first minutes back at the club since his lay off and surgery, Gary Rymer and new signing Sam Pekun getting valuable match time. Several players were rested due to slight injuries including regular starters Ben Lewis and Dan Deakin. Justin and Alex Hockley plus Rory Lonsdale were added to the bench.

Jake Bradshaw started upfront in his 2nd game since resigning for the club after a short spell at Holmer Green.
The game kicked off and straight away we attacked the Wasps looking to sting them we our pace throughout the team and within 10 minutes we could’ve been 3-0 up but didn’t take our chances first Jake Bradshaw played in Don Fundira only for the keeper to block his shot, then James Shrimpton found himself with the ball at his feet just inside the area only for his shot again being blocked.
The pressure kept on coming but we couldn’t find the back of the net as the half went on the Referee spoiled the game making several decisions from well off the pace and out of position.
Jack Sillitoe and our defence dealt comfortably with any long ball attack put at them.

Half time 0-0

The second half started a bit more even and Chalfont took the lead when we gave the ball away easily and their right sided player put a good cross in for the forward to head in from close range unchallenged.
This just spurred on the Rangers lads and immediately equalised when Sam Pekun controlled a through ball and ran forward to calmly slot home from the angle into the far corner and celebrated with a back flip.

As the game went on and both teams making a couple changes it was Risborough who were looking the more dangerous and when Don Fundira beat his marker and slotted a fine weighted pass through to Jake who bared down on goal then knocked the ball past the advancing keeper only to be brought down in the area which the Referee gave from distance.
Up stepped Shrimps to take the penalty and his experience from the spot was never in doubt as he calmly stroked the ball past the diving attempt of the keeper.
Couple more changes saw Ben Lewis and Alex Hockley come on in midfield just to see the game out.

Andy commented after the game that today’s opponents were better than last time we played and beat them in the cup 3-1 earlier in the season, but felt the game could’ve been much better if not for the constant stop in play.
Next up a much tougher game on Tuesday v Langley at Windsors so as much support as possible will be appreciated.

MOM today was Gary Rymer good to see him getting valuable minutes in this team enabling him to get back up to full match fitness.
